Why Faithia Balogun had birthday party in grand style despite loss

Popular Nollywood actress Faithia Williams, widely known as Faithia Balogun, has announced the passing of her mother.

The actress disclosed the sad news on Monday, a few hours after celebrating her 55th birthday.

According to her, her mother died on the eve of the birthday party, but the information was intentionally kept from her until after the celebration.

In an emotional message shared with fans, she described her late mother as her greatest supporter and confidant.

 wrote that the reality of the loss had not fully sunk in, noting that her mother was her cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and closest companion.

Faithia also appealed to fans and the public to remember her and her siblings in prayers, adding that the family has decided to keep matters private for now. She said burial arrangements would Shebe announced later.

The birthday party, which held in Lagos on Sunday, was attended by several celebrities including Funke Akindele, Pasuma, Kazim Adeoti, Wumi Ajiboye, and MC Oluomo.
