President Bola Tinubu has congratulated players of Nigerian descent who played key roles in the Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl triumph in the United States.
The Seahawks secured their second Lombardi Trophy after a commanding 29–13 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60, played on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, California.
Among the standout players of Nigerian heritage celebrated by the President are quarterback Jalen Milroe, defensive force Nick Emmanwori, veteran linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, linebacker Boye Maye, and offensive lineman Olu Oluwatimi, all of whom contributed to the Seahawks’ dominant performance.
President Tinubu also extended congratulations to Michael Onwenu, who featured for the Patriots and is widely regarded as one of the most formidable offensive linemen in the league.
The President commended the players for bringing pride to Nigeria and their heritage, noting that Emmanwori, Nwosu and Maye symbolically raised the Nigerian flag following the Seahawks’ victory.
He said their achievements reinforce Nigeria’s global reputation for excellence, resilience and sporting talent.
President Tinubu wished all the players continued success and further triumphs in their professional careers.
