Anambra motel owner, 2 others arrested for illicit drug, firearm crimes

The proprietor of a in Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra and two others have over illegal possession of firearm, and involvement in illicit drug activities in the state.
The spokesperson for Anambra Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said the suspects were arrested by operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu.
According to him, the operatives, while acting on credible information in the late hours of Feb. 9, stormed the Motel, where the suspects were arrested.
The Anambra police spokesman said the suspects were between ages 39, 26 and 18 respectively.
He also said that during the search, one Jojef pump action gun with breach number 21SA-0724, loaded with three live cartridges was recovered at the scene.
According to him, during interrogation, one of the suspects, who is the owner of the motel, confessed to the crime.
”His confession led to the arrest of the other two suspects and the recovery of substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, Crystal Methamphetamine, Colos, and Mkpuru-mmiri.
Ikenga reiterated the command’s commitment to sustaining ongoing operations against criminal elements in the state.
He urged members of the public to continue to provide useful information to aid policing efforts in Anambra State.
He assured that further developments would be communicated as the investigation progresses.
