EFCC arrests trio for using ₦500 note as tissue paper

The suspects Adam Muhammad, Muhammad Muhammad, and Bashir Musa were caught after a video went viral on social media. In the video, they were seen using a ₦500 note to clean mucus from their noses.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said the video prompted an investigation that led to their arrest in Maiduguri. The trio is now in EFCC custody in Maiduguri, and investigations are ongoing. They will be charged in court once the investigations are complete.

This arrest is part of the EFCC’s ongoing effort to enforce laws against mutilating the Naira. Recently, the commission also arrested Kannywood actor Saminu Inuwa for a similar offense. The EFCC continues to take action to protect the integrity of Nigeria’s currency.
