Delta finally reveals update on 2025 scholarship payments

In a bid to cushion the impact of current economic challenges, the Delta State Government has officially approved the 2025 bursary awards for students across the state.

The approval follows a productive meeting with the national leadership of the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU), who had expressed concerns regarding payment schedules.
The 2025 approval is wide-reaching, covering Delta indigenes in both public and private tertiary institutions nationwide. The breakdown of the beneficiaries includes:

33,064 General tertiary students.

533 Law School students (receiving special financial assistance).

545 Children of deceased civil servants.

51 Students living with disabilities.
According to Mr. Enita, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori approved the funds as a strategic intervention to assist families during these “prevailing economic challenges.”
“I assure you that the government remains committed to its obligations, and the board has commenced processing payments for the approved bursaries and scholarships,” Enita stated.
The board also confirmed that the specialized financial assistance for Delta indigenes currently enrolled in the Nigerian Law School is being prioritized for immediate processing.
