The divisional officer in charge of New Oko-Oba Police Station, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Aliyu Kawunda has declared that enemies of the state are also enemies of the Nigeria Police Force.
Kawunda stated this during the division’s end of the year get together and award organised by the division to honor those who have been supporting the division in combating crimes in the area.
Kawunda also used the occasion to warn criminals to stay away from the area as the Police will make the area very hot for them to operate or carry out their criminal activities.
The most outstanding awardee of the occasion was Alhaji Umar Usman, branch Chairman of the Motorcycle Operators Association of Lagos State ( MOALS), Ojokoro branch.
Usman,who has supported the division in controlling the activities of commercial motorcycle operators in the area was honored with award of excellence in unwavering support to the station.
Alhaji Usman once assisted the police to recovered an AK47 riffle that was snatched from a policeman at Abattoir division. He single-handedly chased the criminals to Ogere area along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, arrested the duo and brought them back to abattoir where the gun was recovered.
The Chairperson of the occasion, Assistant commissioner of Police (ACP) Veronica Ameh Akpan, thanked the DPO of the station, CSP Aliyu Kawunda and his officers for a job weldone in the past year and urged him to build on the achievements.
In her goodwill message, a retired divisional crime officer, Chief Superintendent of Police Patience Nwangu, also thanked the DPO and other officers of the station for the support she was given during her time as the DCO and urged the young officers to be more dedicated to their duty.
