Dumburi, from Bursari Local Government Area, served under former Governor Ibrahim Geidam and was widely regarded for his contributions to the agricultural sector.

His death was confirmed on Saturday by Senator Musa Mustapha, representing Yobe East, in a statement posted on his Facebook page.

“The news of the sudden death of the former Commissioner of Agriculture and one-time Commissioner of Environment, Alh. Musa Maina Dumburi, greatly saddens my heart,” the senator said.

Mustapha described Dumburi as “a brilliant agriculturist, hardworking, dependable and highly resourceful technocrat,” noting that he remained committed to the development of Yobe State, especially in farming.

“Even at the age of 70, late Alh. Musa Dumburi exuded an unparalleled passion for the progress of Yobe State, and most particularly in the agricultural sector, where he had an accomplished career and held several positions that had direct bearing on farming activities in Yobe State,” the senator added.
