Arsenal have secured the long-term future of their star winger Bukayo Saka with a new five-year contract that extends his stay at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2031 and elevates him to the club’s highest-paid player.
The 24-year-old England international, who came through Arsenal’s Hale End academy and has become one of the Premier League’s most influential attackers, put pen to paper on the deal amid months of negotiations.
Sources close to the club, including reports from BBC Sport, confirm that Saka’s wages will now exceed £300,000 per week, a significant uplift from his previous salary, widely reported around £195,000–£200,000 weekly under the contract that was set to expire in 2027.
The agreement, understood to be worth at least £78 million in total basic earnings over its duration, surpasses the previous top earner at the club, Kai Havertz (on approximately £280,000 per week), and reflects Arsenal’s commitment to rewarding homegrown talent at the heart of their title-challenging project under manager Mikel Arteta.
Saka has been a cornerstone of Arsenal’s resurgence, contributing seven goals and six assists in 27 appearances this season despite ongoing injury concerns earlier in the campaign.
His versatility, work rate, and leadership, having captained the side on multiple occasions, have made him indispensable as the Gunners push for domestic and European success.
Talks over the extension had progressed steadily since late 2025, with Saka verbally committing earlier in January before final details were ironed out.
The move comes at a time when Arsenal continue to invest in squad stability, fending off potential interest from rival clubs while building around a core of young, high-caliber players.
The contract extension bolsters Arsenal’s position ahead of a crucial phase in the season, providing continuity as they chase silverware in the Premier League, Champions League, and domestic cups.
