The All Progressives Congress, APC has said it will work with the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Anambra to get 95 per cent of the votes in the state for President Bola Tinubu during the 2027 presidential election.
Mr Basil Ejidike, Anambra APC Chairman revealed this on Tuesday at the stakeholders’ meeting of the party in Awka, Anambra State.
Ejidike, while addressing the stakeholders at the meeting also affirmed the party’s support for Tinubu in the 2027 Presidential Election.
“We are working with the ruling-APGA to make sure that we deliver 95 per cent of Anambra votes to the APC and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 Presidential Election.”
“I move the motion that we Anambra APC adopt President Bola Tinubu as our Presidential Candidate in 2027,” Ejidike said.
The motion was seconded by the party’s stalwarts in the meeting, including Mr Nicholas Ukachukwu, the APC Governorship Candidate in the Nov. 8 election in the state, and his running mate, Sen. Uche Ekwunife.
The chairman further said that the meeting was convened for the Congress Harmonising Committee to organise members at the unit, ward and local government levels for the upcoming ward congress, starting on Wednesday.
Also speaking, Ukachukwu underscored the need for party discipline and unity among members, if APC must win the presidential election and other elections in the state.
“Anambra APC will grow when the right things are done.
“We joined the APC to make the party better in Anambra, and not to cause confusion or chase away the people we met in the party,” Ukachukwu said.
He frowned at the situation where an APC stalwart would defect to another party, return later and still wanted to maintain his position, instead of queueing up to give others a chance. (NAN)
