Didi Ekanem fires at Rosy Meurer after Churchill’s reunion with son

Nollywood actress, Didi Ekanem, has publicly criticised her colleague, Rosy Meurer, following the latter’s emotional reaction to her husband, Olakunle Churchill’s reunion with his son.

The controversy began after reports surfaced that Meurer unfollowed her husband on social media shortly after he celebrated his son, whom he shares with actress Tonto Dikeh, on the child’s 10th birthday.

In response to online reactions, Meurer posted a series of videos on her Instagram page denying long-standing allegations that she snatched Churchill from Dikeh.

According to her, she never had a prior relationship with Dikeh and met Churchill independently.

She also stated she was fully aware of the father-and-son reunion before it became public and insisted she had been “100 percent supportive.”

Not stopping there, the actress took to her Instagram story to express frustration over what she described as false narratives surrounding her marriage, saying she was tired of remaining silent over the issue.

Reacting, Ekanem questioned the timing of Meurer’s response, noting that she had years to address the matter but chose to speak only after Churchill reconciled with his son.

“You had 10 years to tell your story, but never did. As soon as they reconciled and he’s finally getting the chance to celebrate his first son — boom, you decided to tell your story. We hear you,” she wrote.

Media personality Do2dtun also weighed in, stating that he would have advised Meurer against releasing the videos. According to him, the timing and purpose of the message did not add value to the situation, adding that he would rather embrace the child and support his partner.

Churchill married Meurer after his marriage to Dikeh collapsed. Their relationship has since remained a subject of public scrutiny and online criticism.

Dikeh and Churchill got married in 2015 but separated about two years later. The actress accused him of domestic violence and infidelity involving Meurer, allegations Churchill denied.

In 2022, Churchill issued a cease-and-desist letter accusing Dikeh of defamation, alleging she made false claims about him and his wife, including sponsoring their wedding and labelling Meurer a husband snatcher.
