Two Nigerian nationals have been sentenced to four years in prison each by the Damongo Circuit Court in Ghana for providing false information to officials of the National Identification Authority (NIA) and related fraudulent activities.
The convicts, Yunus Ali (47), a trader, and Salawudeen Abdul Hafeez (42), a teacher, were arraigned on three counts, including knowingly supplying false data during the national identification registration process.
Prosecutors told the court that the duo also possessed forged documents, which they used to facilitate their fraudulent activities.
After hearing the evidence, the court found both men guilty on all counts and handed down four‑year custodial sentences to each
