Nollywood actress Georgina Ibeh has opened up about the distressing experience she faced after hackers took over her YouTube channel, Georgina Ibeh TV, leading to its temporary removal from the platform.
The actress disclosed the incident in a video shared on her Instagram page, explaining that she first received an email notification from YouTube on February 9 informing her that her channel had been removed.
Ibeh said the message initially appeared suspicious, as she assumed it was a scam email. However, she later realised that unknown individuals had gained access to her account and hijacked the channel.
According to her, the hackers renamed the account and began using it to stream political content.
“I didn’t know what to do. I wanted to panic, but I told myself to stay calm,” she said, adding that she relied on prayer while trying to resolve the situation.
She explained that after several days, she checked the channel again and discovered it had reappeared online but was still under the control of the hackers.
The actress later received another email from YouTube confirming that full ownership of the account had been restored to her after verification by the platform’s support team.
Reflecting on the experience, Ibeh said she remained composed throughout the crisis because of a personal lesson she learned years earlier about staying calm in difficult situations.
