The Katsina State Police Command has revealed that an individual, suspected to be an human trafficker was arrested while attempting to flee the country.
The arrest which took place on Wednesday, also led to the rescue of five individuals who were to be trafficked to Algeria from Nigeria.
The Police command revealed that the arrest took place after a tip off. The surveillance team intercepted 45-year-old Rukayya Lawal at the Central Motor Park in Katsina.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama on his X handle on Thursday also revealed the details of the victims, noting that the suspect has been taken into police custody.
“They were identified as Maryam Jamilu, 20; Abdurazak Salisu, 18; Hauwa U. Murtala, 15; Danjuma Sule, 19; and Faiza Rabe, 14. All of them were said to be from the same address,” Makama wrote.
