The City Boy Movement (CBM), a political support group founded by Seyi Tinubu and aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has announced the appointment of Suleiman Abubakar Magaji as its North-Central Zonal Youth Coordinator, in a move aimed at strengthening youth mobilization across the region for 2027 elections.
In an appointment letter dated February 20, 2026, and issued from Abuja, the group said Magaji’s selection reflects his dedication to the ideals of President Tinubu and his demonstrated commitment to the objectives of the movement.
Magaji, who is based in Maitama, Abuja, is expected to play a central role in coordinating youth-focused activities across the North-Central geopolitical zone, which includes states such as Niger, Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Plateau, and Nasarawa, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the letter, the new appointee will lead youth mobilization efforts within the zone, ensuring the effective implementation of the movement’s programmes and initiatives.
He is also tasked with organizing and strengthening youth structures in alignment with the broader campaign and engagement strategies associated with President Tinubu’s political agenda.
The City Boy Movement emphasized that Magaji will be responsible for establishing and supervising youth committees at zonal, state, and local government levels. These structures are expected to enhance communication, coordination, and grassroots participation among young people in the region.
The appointment came at a time when youth engagement is increasingly seen as a decisive factor in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape. With a significant percentage of the country’s population under the age of 35, organized youth mobilization remains a critical tool for political movements seeking to expand influence and consolidate support.
The City Boy Movement has, in recent years, positioned itself as a key grassroots platform advocating for the policies and leadership of President Tinubu, with a strong focus on youth inclusion and participation.
Magaji’s appointment is therefore viewed as part of a broader strategy to deepen the movement’s reach in the North-Central zone and reinforce its organizational structure ahead of future political activities.
Further details regarding his inauguration and rollout of zonal programs are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
