The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and MTN Nigeria have started offering free WiFi at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Terminal 2 in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The service was officially launched at MMIA Terminal 2 by FAAN’s Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, who was represented by the Director of Airport Operations, Capt. Abdullahi Mahmood. MTN Nigeria was represented by Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Lynda Saint-Nwafor, on behalf of CEO Karl Toriola.

The free WiFi is available to all passengers and airport visitors. It will soon be expanded to the MMIA temporary terminal and other international airports across Nigeria within the next three months.

Mrs. Kuku said the launch is a major step forward for FAAN, improving digital infrastructure and passenger experience at Nigerian airports. She noted that the partnership with MTN shows how Public-Private Partnerships can modernize infrastructure and boost Nigeria’s digital economy.

Saint-Nwafor of MTN Nigeria assured that the service would be secure, reliable, and efficient for everyone using it. She also praised FAAN’s management for their teamwork and foresight in completing the project successfully.

The initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the transformation goals of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.
