The Peoples Democratic Party in Benue has placed its State Publicity Secretary, Mr Tim Nyor, on suspension over alleged breaches of party rules, including insubordination and conduct deemed detrimental to the party.

The resolution was reached on Friday at a meeting of the State Working Committee held at the party’s secretariat in Makurdi.

In a statement issued by the State Secretary, Comrade Dan Nyikwagh, the party said the action followed laid-down constitutional procedures.

“The suspension is in strict compliance with the provisions of Articles 58(1)(h) and 57(3) of the PDP Constitution (2017, as amended),” the statement read.

The committee said the suspension takes immediate effect and will run for one month while investigations are carried out and further decisions taken in accordance with the party’s constitution.

During this period, Nyor is prohibited from taking part in any party activities at any level.

“The State Working Committee reiterates its commitment to discipline, internal democracy, and adherence to the party’s constitution,” Nyikwagh stated.
