The Metropolitan Police (Met) have launched a murder investigation and arrested four men after a man in his 60s was fatally stabbed in East London.
At 8.59pm on Friday, February 20, officers were called to a property on Westbury Road, Walthamstow, following reports of a stabbing, MyLondon reports.
Police and paramedics found the man with stab wounds to his chest. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two of the arrested four men are reportedly in their 20s while the remaining two are in their 50s.
They were arrested later that evening on suspicion of murder and have since remained in police custody.
The investigation is being led by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, with urgent enquiries ongoing to establish what led to the attack.
The magazine quoted detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, leading the investigation, as saying: “We are working around the clock to understand exactly what led to this man’s murder.
“While four men have now been arrested, this remains an early-stage investigation, and we still need information from the public.
“If you saw or heard anything, or have any details that could assist us, please come forward.”
