The NFF leadership remains hopeful that Chelle will continue focusing on building the team ahead of upcoming international assignments.

The Technical Committee Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Sherif Inuwa Ahlan, has said that Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle will complete his contract with the federation.

Chelle has about nine months remaining on his current deal with the NFF. However, there have been doubts about his future after reports that some countries and clubs are interested in hiring him.

The interest followed his success in leading Nigeria to a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite the speculation, Ahlan expressed confidence that Chelle will respect the agreement he signed with the NFF.

According to a source who spoke to SCORENigeria, the NFF chairman believes there is no need to discuss the coach’s future because he is expected to honour his contract.

The Super Eagles are expected to return to action next month in a four-nation invitational tournament in Amman, Jordan. Nigeria will compete against the host country, Jordan, and Iran in the competition.
