Rapper Jesse Jagz Abaga has slammed the federal government for failing to protect citizens, particularly women and children, following a viral account of a month-long abduction in northwestern Nigeria.

On X, the musician expressed outrage, writing, “Our govt has utterly failed to protect us, especially our women & children, who should be protected at ALL costs. Imagine the hell these women have endured! The hopelessness… knowing nobody is coming to help. It’s disgraceful that in 2026, citizens are still being snatched like livestock on highways, farms, including their homes.”

The reaction comes after a video posted by Almustapha Aisha highlighted the plight of her friend Maryam, who has been in captivity for a month after being kidnapped while traveling from Zamfara to Sokoto to attend school. In the video, she lamented, “It really pains me how banditry has been normalized and human beings are being priced like animals.”
