‘Start your own separate conversation,’ Deyemi slams Simi’s critics

Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has reacted to the backlash Simi received over her tweets on rape and sexual assault. The 44-year-old actor, on his X handle, cautioned critics from calling Simi out.

He explained that people with problems over Simi’s tweets can start their own conversation about false accusation and men’s cases of sexual assault at another time and place.

Deyemi explained that people need to learn to read the room when giving responses to certain sensitive and controversial matters. He added that the only valid response to a call for an end to rape should be support and not dividing the conversation to other sub-topics.

”When women say “STOP raping women” …Your response cannot be “what about men/children” neither can it be “what abt false accusers” nor anything else. Your reply MUST only be YES !!!. You can start your own separate conversation abt anything else at another time/place,” he wrote.
