“To my fans, I’m sorry. I never planned to do this but I can’t take this anymore. I’m done. Good music don’t sell anymore. How can you eat when there’s no food? How can you be at peace when there’s no peace,” she said while weeping.

Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Busola Oke, has sparked concern among fans after breaking down in tears during a live session on Instagram, where she opened up about her ongoing struggles in the music industry.

The Eleyele crooner, who has been locked in a long-running dispute with her producer, Bayo Films, became visibly emotional during the session as she apologised to her fans and admitted she could no longer cope with the pressures she is currently facing.

“To my fans, I’m sorry. I never planned to do this but I can’t take this anymore. I’m done. Good music don’t sell anymore. How can you eat when there’s no food? How can you be at peace when there’s no peace,” she said while weeping.

The veteran gospel act lamented that talent and spiritual gifting are no longer enough to guarantee success in Nigeria’s music industry, noting that she now feels abandoned by many who once surrounded her during her successful years.

According to her, there can be no peace of mind in the absence of financial stability, as she questioned how anyone could function without the basic necessities of life.

In the emotional video, she also asked rhetorically how a person could drive without owning a car, stressing that “good music no longer sells” the way it used to.

The singer, known for hit songs such as Eleyele, Ogo Tuntun, Asoro Ma Tase, Alanu and Adaba, has since received an outpouring of prayers and supportive messages from concerned fans on social media, many urging her to stay strong amid the challenges.
