Nigerian singer Awosika Josiah, popularly known as Fido, has spoken on the backlash he has received over his recent conduct.
The fast-rising afrobeats artist, on his X handle, expressed his regrets for his actions which he claims were influenced by his ego. Fido explained that he was not prepared for the life after fame, revealing that he was confused and moved without reflecting first.
“I moved too fast without enough reflection. There’s no easy way to write this, so I’ll just say it plainly. I messed up. I allowed ego, excitement and inexperience to influence some of my decisions. That’s not who I want to be, and it’s not who I’m becoming,” he stated.
Fido also apologised to his fans for his conduct in the past few months. He stressed his regrets towards acts and words of disrespect to veterans and colleagues.
“To my fans who stood by me, defended me and prayed for me, I am sorry. To the legends and godfathers who paved the way, I apologise. Truly. It takes strength to admit you were wrong. I’m still learning, still evolving,” he noted.
