The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has appealed to the public to come forward with reliable information on alleged cases of child sexual abuse and misconduct in daycare centres nationwide.
In a notice released on Tuesday via its official X account, the agency emphasised its commitment to thoroughly examining concerns raised in recent discussions and viral posts online.
“Following recent public discussions and concerns regarding alleged incidents of child sexual abuse or misconduct in daycare settings across Nigeria, we are committed to thoroughly investigating credible reports,” NAPTIP stated.
The agency urged anyone possessing verified information, evidence, or first-hand knowledge of such incidents including those personally affected, to contact them confidentially.
“We kindly request anyone with factual information, evidence, direct knowledge, or who was personally affected by the matters referenced in the viral posts or related experiences to reach out to us confidentially via DM or email at [email protected], ” the statement added.
This appeal comes amid widespread social media attention on alleged misconduct in daycare environments. exploitation, particularly sexual abuse.
