PSG’s Hakimi to face court battle over rape allegation

The defender, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain and the Morocco national football team, has denied the accusation.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Hakimi said he is innocent.

“Today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial, even though I deny it and everything proves it’s false,” he wrote.

He added that the situation is unfair both to innocent people and to real victims. He said he is calm and ready for the trial, where he believes the truth will come out.

The prosecutor’s office in Nanterre, France, opened an investigation in 2023 after the allegation was made. Officials have not yet given further comments on the case.
