Arsenal legend Thierry Henry surprised fans on Wednesday night when he spoke pidgin English to Victor Osimhen after Galatasaray’s Champions League match.
The moment happened after Osimhen helped Galatasaray progress to the next round of the UEFA Champions League despite a 3-2 loss to Juventus on the night.
Osimhen scored one of Galatasaray’s goals in the match. Although the Turkish champions were beaten 3-2 in the second leg, they had already won the first leg 5-2 in Turkey. This gave them a 7-5 aggregate victory, which was enough to secure qualification to the Round of 16.
Speaking on CBS Sports after the game, Henry greeted Osimhen in pidgin English, saying: “Victor, how body? Body dey?”
Osimhen responded with a smile: “Body dey fine,” meaning he was feeling good.
The exchange quickly caught the attention of fans, especially Nigerians, who were excited to hear Henry speak pidgin on live television.
Osimhen will now shift his focus to domestic action. He is expected to lead Galatasaray again when they take on Alanyaspor in a Turkish Super Lig match on Saturday.
