A major fire outbreak has destroyed valued goods at the Opolo Furniture Market in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state. The incident was reported to have occurred in the early hours of Thursday, destroying shops and goods worth millions.
Eyewitnesses recall that the residents tried to put out the fire before officials of the Bayelsa State Fire Service arrived at the scene.
Traders also made attempts to salvage their goods as the fire consumed multiple shops. The cause of the fire, however is yet to be determined. No casualties has been confirmed from the tragic incident.
