Rema reveals pre-show rituals

Nigerian artiste, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has opened up on how he prepares for shows.

The 25-year-old singer, while speaking with Dazed on the sidelines of the Milan Fashion Week, revealed that he usually drinks alcohol, smokes cigarettes, and prays before commencing a performance.

Rema noted the importance of breathwork during live performances, stating that it is something he prioritises before a performance.

”A little Tequila, a little cigarette, pray, tap in with the team and make sure everything is on cue. Performing has a lot to do with your breathwork and you have to keep the crowd going,” he stated.

Rema however, noted that he is aware of his smoking habits and the dangers that surrounds it, stating that it is his biggest vice.
