Shanko Rasheed breaks down after son’s death

Popular Nigerian Fuji musician, Shanko Rasheed Atanda, has been thrown into mourning following the death of his first son, Jamaldeen Atanda.

The singer announced the heartbreaking news on Friday through a post shared on his Instagram page, where he expressed deep grief over the painful loss.

According to him, losing a child is a tragedy no parent ever prays to experience, as he offered prayers for his son’s peaceful rest.

“So sad, no parent prays to lose a child in their lifetime but Alhamdulilahi Jamaldeen Emrs Atanda JNR rest well my champ. I will surely tell you all about it when I see you again. Omo Ola sun reeee,” he wrote.

Shanko Rasheed did not disclose the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death, including when or how the incident occurred.

Following the announcement, fans, colleagues and well-wishers flooded his comment section with condolence messages, offering support and prayers during the difficult period.

The tragedy comes only a few months after the Fuji star celebrated Jamaldeen’s 12th birthday in December with a touching tribute. In the earlier message, he described his son as a source of joy and pride, noting that watching him grow had been one of the greatest blessings of his life.

He had written: “Happy birthday to my amazing first son! You changed my life the moment you arrived and continue to make me proud every single day. Watching you grow has been my greatest joy.”

The bereaved singer has yet to release further details about burial arrangements.
