Michael B. Jordan recounts mother’s sacrifices at Actor Awards

American actor Michael B. Jordan, has spoken about the challenges he faced at the early stages of his career, celebrating his mom for her sacrifices.

The actor who was crowned as the Lead Actor at the 2026 Actor Awards, recounted his mom, Donna Jordan’s sacrifices to ensuring he achieves his dream.

Michael got emotional during his speech as he revealed that he did not always have it all.

“Mom, thank you for driving me back and forth to New York. When we didn’t have enough money to go through the Holland Tunnel, when we were looking for gas money, parking spaces, when I went up there for my auditions,” he stated.

The 39-year-old also thanked Ryan Coogler for collaborating with him on the movie Sinners.

“I want to thank Ryan Coogler for giving me the opportunity to show what I can do. And to be fearless and to create a safe space for us to find the truth [and for] what you do with all the other actors that we had an opportunity to work with,” he added.
