Moni Pulo CEO declares season of growth, stability at 12th Corporate Praise

Dr. Seinye O. B. Lulu-Briggs, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Moni Pulo Limited, has reaffirmed the company’s faith-driven philosophy and growth outlook as it marked its 12th Annual Corporate Praise commemorating the dedication of the company to God.

Held at the Chapel of God International Worship Centre, Forces Avenue, Old GRA, Port Harcourt, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, the event drew attendance from across society.

Addressing staff, management, partners, host community representatives, family, and friends, Dr. Lulu-Briggs said the annual gathering had become a defining tradition of the company, anchored on the theme Unwavering Gratitude, drawn from 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

She recalled that the annual corporate praise began twelve years ago following the dedication of Moni Pulo Limited to God, a decision she described as foundational to the company’s journey and corporate culture.

According to her, the commitment to return yearly in thanksgiving was first declared at the inaugural praise service by guest minister Apostle Zilly Aggrey, who urged the company to “Let God be Lifted” annually in commemoration of the dedication.

Dr. Lulu-Briggs said the consistency of the annual event reflected gratitude rooted in the company’s experience of resilience through periods of uncertainty, challenge, and growth.

Tracing the origins of the company, she noted that Moni Pulo’s emergence was not merely a business success story, but one shaped by faith and conviction, particularly in its formative years.

She recounted how the company’s founder and pioneer chairman, High Chief Dr. O.B. Lulu-Briggs, pressed on with the acquisition of its pioneer asset despite professional advice that the asset was commercially unviable.

That decision, she said, culminated seven years later in the company striking First Oil on March 7, 1999, positioning Moni Pulo among Nigeria’s earliest indigenous independent oil producers.

Dr. Lulu-Briggs explained that by conventional scientific and commercial projections, production from the pioneer field should have ended over a decade ago, yet operations have continued beyond expectations.

She attributed the company’s sustained operations to what she described as divine intervention, adding that Moni Pulo had also enjoyed operational stability, with no accidents, security incidents, or host community conflicts recorded.

The CEO further disclosed that Moni Pulo had remained in good standing with regulatory authorities and had earned recognition as the first indigenous company to fully comply with the Petroleum Industry Act requirements on the Host Community Development Trust.

Through the trust framework, she said the company had executed several community development projects, including health facilities, renovated schools, civic halls, boreholes, solar lighting installations, sanitation facilities, and livelihood support programmes.

Beyond infrastructure and investments, Dr. Lulu-Briggs highlighted workforce preservation as a key milestone, noting that no staff or management member was lost in the past year, while the company’s workforce grew.

Looking ahead, she announced that Moni Pulo was developing significant gas reserves discovered in areas previously considered exhausted, describing the development as a new phase requiring strong partnerships, technical expertise, and financial discipline.

Declaring that the company had entered a “season of increase,” Dr. Lulu-Briggs said Moni Pulo’s future outlook included expanded operations, growth in reserves, and successful gas asset development, while maintaining its long-standing commitment to gratitude, peace, and responsible corporate citizenship.

Also speaking at the occasion, Rivers State Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Odu says the state government is impressed with Moni Pulo Petroleum Development Limited for its sustained contributions to the economic development of the State.

‎Professor Odu commended the company for upholding ethical and spiritual values, noting that its consistent culture of gratitude to God for His faithfulness over the years has set an inspiring example for other corporate institutions across the country.

‎“Twelve years of consistent dedication to God, excellence in service, and contribution to the growth of our dear State is indeed a remarkable milestone and a testament to divine faithfulness, visionary leadership, resilience, and corporate responsibility,” Prof. Odu stated.

‎While commending the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Dr. Seinye Lulu-Briggs, for setting a commendable leadership model for other organizations, she prayed that Almighty God would grant her sustained growth, greater achievements, and continued impactful service.

Renowned cleric and the founding pastor of Graceland International Churches, Apostle David Zilley Aggrey in his sermon, urged worshippers to remain obedient, grateful, and steadfast in God.

Preaching from the story of King David and the Ark of God, he warned against disobedience, even when intentions seem good. “Don’t help God,” he repeatedly told the congregation.

He explained that the Ark, which symbolized God’s glory, was carried wrongly on a cart instead of on the shoulders of priests as instructed.

When a man tried to steady it, he died. According to the Apostle, “He died because of another man’s mistake,” stressing that divine instructions must not be altered for convenience or style.

Apostle Aggrey noted that when the Ark was later placed in the house of Obed-Edom, the poor man was greatly blessed within three months.

“What others meant for evil, God turned for good,” he declared, encouraging the congregation not to fear difficult seasons.

Highlight of the event was presentation of gifts to female staff and wives of male staff.
