Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay has clarified that she does not consider herself a single mother following her separation from her estranged husband, Nigerian music star 2Baba.
The actress made the clarification in a post shared on her Instagram page, where she explained that she prefers to describe herself as a single woman raising two children rather than a single mother.
“I’m not a single mom. I’m a single woman raising two kids,” she wrote.
The statement comes months after 2Baba publicly announced in January 2025 that he and Annie had separated and that he had begun divorce proceedings.
The singer stated at the time that their marriage had faced challenges for a long period.
Shortly after the announcement, the music star introduced Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru as his new partner, a development that generated widespread reactions on social media.
Following the separation announcement, Annie initially removed the surname “Idibia” from her social media accounts but later restored it.
The couple got married in 2012 and welcomed two daughters, Isabella and Olivia Idibia, during their 13-year relationship, which often attracted public attention due to its ups and downs.
