Kano state government and security agencies have put measures in place to stop plan for a massive protest over the ongoing war in the middle east as being circulated and promoted in the social media.
There are videos and audio tapes in the social media warning of a violent protest as a result of the ongoing war between the United States of America (USA)/Israel and Iraq.
In a joint Press Conference at the office of the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the state Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, assured that the state government, security agencies and other relevant stakeholders are on top of the situation.
Waiya urged law abiding citizens to move about their businesses without fear or favour, as the state government is ever ready to ensure adequate protection of lives and property.
Kano Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bakori, informed journalists that the one of the suspects circulating the video has been arrested and being investigated.
He described the information as false and warned residents against circulating fake news .
He said the Kano state police Command is working closely with other security agencies to avert breach of the peace.
