Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has said that human beings can be more wicked than snakes as he spoke publicly for the first time following his release from prison.

The actor made the remark in a viral music video released three months after regaining his freedom from a Lagos State correctional facility.

Baba Ijesha was released in November 2025 after serving a five-year jail term over sexual assault charges brought against him by comedian Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess.

Princess had in 2021 accused the actor of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter at her residence in Lagos, an allegation that eventually led to his arrest, trial and conviction.

Speaking in the music video, Baba Ijesha claimed that he was set up by Princess, who he said was once a close friend.

The actor alleged that his trust was betrayed by someone he believed in, warning fans and the public to be careful about the people they associate with.

“My trust was betrayed, and I ended up in Kirikiri prison because of a woman. She asked them to silence me so that my voice would not be heard. Please listen to my own side of the story,” he said.

Recounting the incident, Baba Ijesha claimed that the situation began on April 21, 2021, when Princess allegedly invited him to her house with the promise of preparing his favourite meal.

According to him, he was told there was a movie role for him and was asked to rehearse a part before realising the situation had taken a different turn.

“That was how I got captured. The world is wicked. I was told about a job before that day and asked to come over. When I got there, I met some people waiting, and I started rehearsing according to what I was told by the alleged director, not knowing there was no movie. It was all a setup,” he said.

The actor insisted that he was innocent of the allegations and maintained that the real offender was still walking freely.

He further cautioned his supporters to be wary of betrayal from friends.

“Please my fans, be careful with friends. They cannot always be trusted. The world is evil, and human beings can be more wicked than venomous snakes,” he added.
