Joeboy weighs in on Tyla’s 2026 Grammy win

Nigerian singer and song writer Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa-Donus, popularly known as Joeboy has reacted to South African singer Tyla’s recent Grammy triumph over his colleagues.

While speaking with Jay On-Air, Joeboy explained that Tyla didn’t just deserve the award, she merited it. He added that contrary to the controversy surrounding her win, she actually put in the work that earned her the award.

Joeboy noted that although he was tipping Davido for the award, Tyla is a worthy winner.

“Personally, I was rooting for Davido to win the Best African Music Performance category at the 2026 Grammys, but you can’t take it away from Tyla. She is an amazing artist whether you accept it or not. She really put in the work. People can be angry all they want but she deserved the Grammy win. I can’t fault her triumph,” he said.
