Tragedy hits Davido’s camp as Israel DMW loses father

The father of Israel Afeare, popularly known as Israel DMW, the logistics manager of Afrobeats star Davido, has passed away at the age of 71.

Israel DMW confirmed the sad news in a telephone conversation on Friday, revealing that his father, Mr. Eric Afeare, died on March 2 after a brief illness.

According to him, the late Eric Afeare, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, died in a hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The Edo State indigene described his father as a strong pillar of support and the backbone of the family, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.

“It is sad losing my father at this time. We still need him with us, but God knows best,” Israel DMW said.

“He was my pillar of strength and was instrumental in keeping the family united.”

The late Mr. Eric Afeare is survived by two wives and eight children.

Israel DMW, who is widely known for his close association with Davido, has received condolences from fans and well-wishers following the announcement of his father’s death.
