Lagos is full of married gay men – Chude Jideonwo claims

Media personality Chude Jideonwo has stirred conversations online after claiming that Lagos State is home to many married gay men.

Chude made the statement while reacting to speculations about his sexuality following one of his interviews with TVC.

Speaking during a recent appearance on The Clarity Zone Podcast, the media entrepreneur addressed the rumours while discussing broader societal issues, including the growing presence of ritual-related advertisements on social media platforms.

According to him, he recently noticed several individuals openly promoting ritual practices on platforms such as TikTok, a development he described as troubling.

Chude said he had seen multiple people advertising native medicine and ritual services online, with some even broadcasting live from shrines while interacting with viewers.

“People are advertising rituals on TikTok. Native medicine, I have seen three people advertising, and people are engaging,” he said.

“One of the women was live from her shrine, and people were asking, ‘Mama, how can I reach you?’ with a phone number,” he added.

While addressing the rumours about his sexuality, Chude said he found the speculation ironic, insisting that many married men in Lagos secretly identify as gay.

“When the TVC interview came out, people were saying maybe I’m gay. I’m like Lagos is full of married gay people,” he said.
