Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has stirred conversation online after speaking about the growing trend of cosmetic surgery, particularly the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), among women.

The actress shared her views in a video posted on social media, where she addressed men who now advise women to accept their natural bodies despite previously mocking them for their appearance.

According to Nkechi Blessing, many women resort to cosmetic procedures because of constant body-shaming and pressure from society.

She noted that the same people who once ridiculed women for not having certain body features are now urging them to avoid surgery and embrace their natural looks.

“You people mocked women for years because of their bodies, but now you are the same ones telling them to love themselves the way they are,” she said.

The actress explained that persistent criticism about body shape has contributed to the rise in procedures such as BBL.

“Many women went for BBL because of the insults and pressure they received about their bodies. You bullied women for not having big backsides and now you are telling them not to do surgery,” she added.

Despite acknowledging the pressures women face, Nkechi Blessing maintained that she would not allow insults or online criticism to influence her personal decisions about her body.

“No amount of insults or abuse will push me to change my body. This body is my hard work and the success I have achieved,” she said.

The mother of one further stressed that women should have the freedom to decide what they want to do with their bodies without facing judgment from society.

“I am proud of my body and I will not alter it because people talk. Women should be free to make their own decisions about their bodies,” she stated.

However, the actress clarified that if she ever considers undergoing surgery, it would only be for weight-loss purposes and not for enhancement procedures like BBL.
