Federico Valverde delivered a stunning first-half performance, scoring a hat-trick to put Real Madrid in commanding control against Manchester City as the Spanish giants surged to a 3–0 lead before halftime in their UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday.
The Uruguayan midfielder opened the scoring in the 20th minute after receiving a pass from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Valverde raced clear, calmly rounding the goalkeeper before lifting the ball into the net to give Madrid the early advantage.
Manchester City attempted to respond through Bernardo Silva and Jeremy Doku, but Real Madrid’s defence held firm while Courtois remained alert in goal.

The hosts then delivered another devastating blow just before halftime. In the 42nd minute, Brahim Diaz slipped a pass to Valverde inside the box, and the midfielder finished confidently from close range to complete his hat-trick and extend Madrid’s lead to 3–0.
The remarkable treble capped a dominant first-half display by the Spanish giants, leaving Manchester City with a mountain to climb in the second half.
