Emotional moment Mama Bola Are paid condolence visit to Adegbodu family

The Nigerian gospel music community was touched by a moving scene as veteran gospel singer and evangelist Bola Are paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Taiwo Adegbodu of the Adegbodu Twins.

The visit, which took place at the Adegbodu family residence, came days after news of Taiwo’s death surfaced. His twin brother and music partner, Kehinde Adegbodu, announced the heartbreaking loss on social media, describing his grief in an emotional post:

“TAIWO, why will you leave me and your kids without notification? My heart is bleeding, Lord how do you want me to cope without him? God why? This is too much for me to bear!!!”

In the video making rounds online, Bola Are was seen moving with her team to the residence, where Kehinde prostrated in respect. The veteran singer warmly embraced him, visibly in tears, and said, “Iwo lo ye,” meaning, “It’s only you who understands God.” The heartfelt exchange offered a moment of solace to the bereaved family.

Taiwo and Kehinde Adegbodu were celebrated in gospel circles for their energetic twin-stage performances, powerful ministrations, and songs that drew worshippers from churches across Nigeria, particularly in the South-West.

Reflecting on the loss, Kehinde revealed that he spent Taiwo’s final hours with him, noting that the late singer appeared active until about 11 p.m. the night before his sudden passing. “By this time last week Saturday you were still alive and very active. We were together till 11pm before you left suddenly. So it’s already eight days without you, my best friend,” he wrote, expressing his struggle to come to terms with life without his twin.
