The Police have said they have no report yet that social media content creator, comedian and actor, Samuel Animashaun Perry, known professionally as Broda Shaggi was shot in Ota, Ogun State.

The Ogun State Police Command said this in reaction to viral story that Broda Shaggi, has been hospitalised after he was shot under the Sango-Ota bridge last Sunday afternoon.

The comedian was allegedly shot filming a comedy skit at a location in Ota, Ogun State, when he sustained the gunshot injury.

The report also indicated that Broda Shaggi was initially taken to a medical facility in the Alakuko area of Lagos State for initial treatment and later to another top scale hospital in Lagos where he has been on admission for treatment of the gunshot injury.

However, Broda Shaggi or his management has not issued any statement on the alleged incident.

But the Ogun Police Command in a statement by its spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi on Friday claimed there was no yet report that the content creator was shot anywhere in the state.

Babaseyi, however, said investigation are going on to ascertain they veracity of the reported shooting of the content creator.

The statement by Babaseyi read, “The Ogun State Police Command wishes to address reports alleging that the entertainer Broda Shaggi was shot within Ogun State. For clarity, the Command cannot confirm that such an incident occurred anywhere within its jurisdiction. Additionally, no such incident has been reported at any Police formation across the State.

“In line with the Command’s commitment to professionalism and transparency, investigations have been initiated to ascertain the facts and verify the claim. The Command is actively carrying out necessary investigations to determine the true circumstances of the report.

“Citizens are advised to rely solely on official Police communication while the investigation runs its course. The Command remains committed to the safety of all residents and the maintenance of law and order across Ogun State.”
