Anthony Joshua eyes big fight as training resumes
Former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua is getting ready to return to professional boxing.
His promoter, Eddie Hearn, said the British boxer is now both physically and mentally prepared to step back into the ring after going through a very difficult time in recent months.
Hearn explained that Joshua has started training again at his old amateur boxing gym in Finchley, London.
This gym is important in Joshua’s career because it was where he trained when he was younger and developing as a boxer. Returning to this gym marks the beginning of his preparation for future fights and possibly another attempt to win a world title.
According to Hearn, the goal is for Joshua to fight again later this year. If everything goes well with his training and preparation, he could face another major British heavyweight boxer, Tyson Fury.
A fight between Joshua and Fury would be one of the biggest boxing matches in the world because both fighters are very popular and successful.
Joshua’s break from boxing came after a tragic road accident in Nigeria about three months ago. The accident was very serious and sadly resulted in the deaths of two of his close friends. Joshua himself suffered minor injuries, but the event had a strong emotional effect on him.
Hearn said the experience has been extremely painful for Joshua, and the memories of that incident will likely stay with him for a long time. However, he believes that returning to the gym and focusing on his boxing career can help Joshua move forward.
He also said that Joshua is still dedicated to his career and wants to continue doing the job he loves. Hearn expressed excitement about Joshua’s return to training and said he is looking forward to seeing him compete again in the boxing ring.
If Joshua successfully returns to fighting and wins more major matches, he could have another chance to become a world heavyweight champion for the third time
