2027: Northern Cross River leaders, others back JAJ, Otu, Tinubu

Community leaders who addressed the gathering said the people of Northern Cross River were satisfied with the working relationship between the state government and the Federal Government under President Tinubu.
Thousands of residents from the five local government areas of northern Cross River State living in Abuja on Sunday held a solidarity rally in support of Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Gov. Bassey Otu of Cross River and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The rally, described by organisers as a demonstration of appreciation for the leadership and development strides associated with the Jarigbe, Otu and Tinubu was held at Millennium Park.
The event was attended by political stakeholders, youth groups, women associations, traditional leaders and party faithful from the Northern Senatorial District.
Speaking during the solidarity rally, participants praised Jarigbe, popularly known as JAJ, for his representation at the National Assembly and what they described as his continued commitment to the development of Cross River.
Speakers at the rally also commended Gov. Otu for his administration’s efforts in infrastructure development, economic revitalisation and improved governance in the state.

They said the collaboration had created opportunities for increased federal presence in the state through road projects, economic initiatives and social intervention programmes.
“The people of Northern Cross River stand firmly with JAJ, Gov. Otu and President Tinubu. Their leadership represents stability, development and progress for our state and the country,” one of the speakers said.
Convener of the rally, Maj. Obi Odu, said the gathering was organised to publicly endorse Jarigbe and appreciate his performance in office.
According to him, the senator has exceeded expectations in delivering democratic dividends to the people of the district.
Also speaking, Mr Joseph Abua said Jarigbe deserved another term in office based on his performance.
An elder from Bekwarra Local Government Area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, commended Jarigbe and Gov. Otu for their efforts in developing the state.
The elder, however, urged President Tinubu to pay closer attention to the economic challenges facing Nigerians.
According to him, while the president has made efforts, more needs to be done to address the hardship experienced by many citizens.
He added that the people of Northern Cross River would continue to support Jarigbe, Otu and Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
The rally featured cultural displays, solidarity marches and goodwill messages from political leaders and stakeholders.
Dignitaries at the event included Amb. Akpang Obi Odu, Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo, Barr. Fidel Bisong Osang, Chief Peter Ojie, Hon. Martins Martin Orim, Dr Dornclaimz Enamhe, Hon. Thomas Agi, Rt. Hon. Regina Anyogo, Chief Austin Edibe, Hon. Gabriel Bravo Oluohu and Roy-Jones Akpak, among others.
