Popular Nigerian singer, Chike, has accused a social media user identified as Chioma Nneoma Ochibili of defrauding him in a failed business deal.

The music star made the allegation in a series of posts on X on Monday morning.

Chike claimed that he gave Ochibili $20,000 for a business venture which, according to him, never materialised.

In one of the posts, the singer expressed shock at discovering that he may have been duped.

“Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, so you are a thief? That’s how they do. They will tell you they are doing certain business. Her business is to survive on your money.

“$50,000 in the air. $20,000 of my hard earned money I didn’t see either. How do I find out this late that I’m just another person she has duped. Even me I de laugh myself,” he wrote.

The singer also warned his followers to avoid doing business with the woman.

When asked by followers about the nature of the transaction, Chike said the exact details of the business were not the main issue, insisting that the venture itself allegedly did not exist.

“Whatever business Chioma sells to you is not the issue. The big issue here is that the business does not even exist, which then equates to fraud,” he added.

He further disclosed that he has begun efforts to recover the money he allegedly lost.

“For context, it was a business transaction, but when the business does not even exist that becomes fraud. When you find out that this is Chioma’s modus operandi, it becomes worrisome,” the singer stated.
