Professor Charles Soludo has been officially sworn in for a second term as Governor of Anambra State.
The inauguration took place on Tuesday at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square, the state capital.
Soludo took the oath of office alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, in a ceremony attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, as well as other dignitaries including former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Soludo winner of the November 8, 2025 governorship election, where he polled 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, APC candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu, who scored 99,445 votes, and YPP candidate Sir Paul Chukwuma, who came third with 37,753 votes.
A total of 16 candidates contested the election, which recorded 598,229 accredited voters out of 2,788,864 registered voters, with 595,298 votes cast and 11,244 rejected votes across 21 local government areas. Soludo emerged victorious in all 21 LGAs, cementing a landslide win for APGA.
