Speaking during an appearance on the Clarity Zone podcast, Evalsam shared details of the incident, claiming he was assaulted and subjected to harsh treatment.
According to him, the ordeal involved being restrained and having pepper poured over his body.
“One guy went out, bought pepper and soaked it. They tied me, lifted me and poured it from my head to my toe,” he said.
Evalsam further alleged that he was later taken to Eko Hotel, where he was asked to pose for photographs while signing documents.
“They took me to Eko Hotel. They spoke to their management and asked me to behave as if I was signing a document,” he added.
The viral sensation, who became popular for his catchy chant “Nawa o, some people dem too do oh,” recently gained widespread attention online, leading to support from content creators and brands.
One of such supporters, Nons Miraj, reportedly gifted him a fully furnished apartment, cash, food items, and clothing. The apartment was said to have been paid for two years upfront, alongside a monthly allowance.
Evalsam also secured a deal with Eko Hotel, where he showcased his singing talent and was unveiled as an ambassador.
