Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has felicitated Muslim community on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the Ramadan 1447AH fast.

This is contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Thursday in Akure.

Aiyedatiwa commended the Muslim Ummah for their devotion and sacrifice during the holy month.

The governor said that Ramadan had once again highlighted the values of faith, discipline, sacrifice and compassion.

He urged Muslim faithful to sustain the virtues beyond the fasting period, noting that the true essence of Ramadan lies in the application of its lessons in daily life.

“As we mark this joyous occasion, I urge our people to celebrate in moderation, remain watchful and be mindful of their environment in the interest of personal and public safety,” he said.

Aiyedatiwa also called on religious leaders to continue to promote harmony and peaceful coexistence in the society.

He said clerics must continue to guide their followers and encourage them to embrace peace, tolerance and unity at all times.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a secure, inclusive and prosperous Ondo State.

He urged residents to support government’s efforts through cooperation and shared responsibility.

Aiyedatiwa encouraged Muslim faithful to use the occasion to pray for the peace, stability and progress of the state and Nigeria.
