Former presidential spokesperson, Femi Fani-Kayode has announced a ceasefire in the messy war of words involving exchange of expletives between him and publisher of Ovation magazine, Otunba Dele Momodu.

The war of words began about three days ago following the not so flattering assertions about President Bola Tinubu and his administration by Momodu during his appearance on Channels Television.

The Ovation magazine publisher who is a chieftain of opposition African Democratic Congress, ADC, had on the television programmed described Tinubu as a dictator.

Momodu, who has declared his support for the candidacy of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the 2027 presidency also dismissed the chances of Atiku winning a second term of office despite massive defection of governors and others to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

However, Fani-Kayode who has been confirmed as Tinubu’s ambassador to Germany was not pleased with the assertions of Momodu about Tinubu. Hence, he replied the Ovation publisher using expletives in a long, viral article on the social media.

Momodu replied in kind with his own article hauling the most grievous insult he can summon at Fani-Kayode.

Both men who are over 60 had earlier today continue the messy battle with accusations and counter accusations against each other though they confessed that some of their mutual friends have appealed for ceasefire.

But Fani-Kayode said on his social media platform that he had ceasefire following intervention with Momodu following intervention of highly respected leaders.

“As a consequence of the intervention of numerous highly respected leaders for whom I have the greatest admiration a ceasefire between myself and my friend and brother Bobby Dee is now in place.

‘I will make no more comments about him and hopefully he will do same. We are both Nigerians and we share common values even though we disagree politically.

“I believe we can both move on with our lives peacefully as from today despite the hurtful things that were said on both sides over the last 24 hours.

“I thank all those that intervened and I hope that the ceasefire will hold”
