Nigerian gospel singer Judikay has opened up on the heartbreaking loss of her sixth pregnancy, revealing the emotional and spiritual struggle she went through.
In a video shared on Instagram, the singer recounted how the tragedy struck in February 2025, when she was already over three months pregnant.
Judikay said it began with mild cramps during her daily activities, which she initially dismissed as minor. Soon after, she noticed light bleeding that quickly worsened. Realising the gravity of the situation, she was rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed a missed miscarriage and performed a D&C procedure.
Reflecting on the painful experience, Judikay said:
“In February 2025, I experienced a pain that almost crushed me. I was pregnant well over three months. One of these days I was going about my day when I started to experience cramps. I said, ‘oh, okay, it was one of those things.’ And then trickles of blood and I said, ‘oh spotting.’ I was devastated because I understood what that meant automatically.”
She added that the nights were the hardest, as she would wake in deep pain and cry out to God:
“In the silence of the night, I would experience a pain that I could not express. I would wake and cry and say, Jesus, where are you?”
Judikay, whose real name is Judith Kanayo-Opara, is married to Anselem Opara. The couple tied the knot in November 2020 and welcomed their first child, a son, in March 2022.
Despite the repeated heartbreak, Judikay’s testimony highlights her unwavering faith, showing that even in moments of extreme grief, she turned to God for comfort and strength.
