The appeal comes in the wake of backlash over an unauthorised visit to the Benin Royal Palace, an act described by the Benin Traditional Council as a violation of palace customs and traditions.

Social media personality, Amodu Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has publicly appealed to the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, for forgiveness following the controversy surrounding her partner, Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, also known as Peller.

The appeal comes in the wake of backlash over an unauthorised visit to the Benin Royal Palace, an act described by the Benin Traditional Council as a violation of palace customs and traditions.

Jarvis made the plea during a live session on social media, where she expressed deep regret over the incident and pleaded for mercy on behalf of her partner.

She also voiced concerns about how the issue could affect her personal life, particularly her plans for marriage, stressing that she hopes the situation does not create obstacles for her future.

“I don’t want to be single to stupor… please forgive him. I want to get married; I want my bride price paid without fear. Please have mercy on us,” she said.

The controversy stems from an incident that occurred on March 6, 2026, when Peller reportedly gained unauthorised access to the royal palace.

Following the development, the Benin Traditional Council summoned Peller and directed him to appear before the palace authorities and submit a formal written apology.

In response to the breach, the council also took disciplinary action against some palace officials. A chief was suspended, while other members of the royal household were sanctioned for their roles in granting unauthorised access.

The palace authorities reiterated their commitment to upholding tradition and maintaining order within the revered institution.
