‘I was ashamed of being pregnant,’ Bisola Aiyeola opens up

Nollywood actress, Bisola Aiyeola has spoken about her journey into motherhood, opening up about the struggles of being a single mother.

The actress, while speaking with Tope Olowoniyan, opened up on her initial psychological struggles with being a single mother. Bisola revealed that she was ashamed and scared after finding out she was going to have a child out of wedlock.

Bisola explained that her fear and shame was mostly associated with the fact that her mother was a single mother and she did not want to begin a trend.

”I was scared and ashamed of being pregnant and having a baby out of wedlock. I thought I was going to get married because I was engaged at that time but we never got married. So it was so shameful because my mum was a single mum and I am about to become one, I feared my child might also have the same fate,” she recalled.

The actress, however, stressed her gratitude and joy for having her daughter. She stated that she cherishes her daughter regardless of the circumstances surrounding her birth.
